They are experiences that are either impossible to capture using standard recording devices, such as physical sensations, emotions and impressions or they fall under fleeting-moment type experiences where recording devices were not used or were not available at the time...


The Houghton Mansion

• Common occurences at the mansion include walking / running footsteps, female voices, cold spots, loud knocking on walls, slamming doors and lights going on and off. Some have been touched by an invisible entity in the basement. Many have felt like they were being watched. Others have experienced chills and numbness when entering certain rooms, including the dining room.



• Tiny, moving sparks of light have been seen by multiple witnesses both in the basement and in John Widders room on the third floor.



• From Scott: "I was attending my first overnight tour at the mansion. It happened to be a new moon that night. There was a group of women who had reserved the mansion for the evening. Unusual activity started to heat up around 10:00 and activity seemed to peak between midnight and 2 a.m.
  I was going to the basement to sit and wait and asked if anyone wanted to join me. Two of the women came with me. We all sat in chairs near a doorway that had experienced activity in the past. The area near us was being recorded on infrared video and being monitored by Nick and Steph, who were directly above us at basecamp on the first floor. The women with me had voice recorders and I began to ask the spirits to show themselves in some way. After about 5 minutes, I began to see a hazy form through the doorway. First I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me in the darkness. But then I asked the women with me "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?". They immediately said "yes". I then described the shape as what looked like a thin head and torso without any noticeable limbs. They stated that they were seeing the same thing.
  Just then, we heard Nick talking above us, saying something about shadows passing around us that he was seeing on IR video. Another moment later, the infrared motion sensor that was next to us, pointing towards the doorway, began to go off. This had never occurred before with these sensors. Investigations
  
• Charlemont Inn - Charlemont, MA: John, Josh and Ron Kolek of the New England Ghost Project were in room 21 of the Charlemont Inn and trying to make contact with the Inn's spirits. Suddenly, they heard a click and the room went pitch black. The bedside lamp with a turn-key switch had just turned off on its own.



• Charlemont Inn - Charlemont, MA: A handful of investigators spent some time in room 18 of the Charlemont Inn trying to capture EVP's. The lights were then turned off and everyone left the room. The door was locked. The BPG had control of the keys to this room, as well as many other rooms in the older section of the Inn. Upon returning to the room less than an hour later, the lights were on. No one had re-entered the room until that point.



• Leavitt Cemetery - Charlemont, MA: From Josh: "Greg first pointed out to me a bush were he heard what he described as someone shaking it or hiding inside. On closer inspection of the bush revealed nothing living in or about it. Also during this time was when Greg and I both started hearing footsteps of someone walking around us or circling around the cemetery as if they we spying on us, trying to stay just out of are range of sight.
  On a few occasions I would see a shadow jumping from headstone to headstone out of the corner of my eye. It would make the hair on the back of my neck stand up and Greg would inform me of seeing some of the same. While this was going on noises would start coming from the not-so-distant wood line to the north of the cemetery. At first it was just the occasional moving of the bushes or breaking of sticks on the ground. As the night went on it turned into what sounded like an axe hitting a tree but without the same frequency that a human would hit a tree."



• Private Residence - Pittsfield, MA: John performed a dowsing session while in the bedroom to the apartment. The dowsing revealed that there was a spirit present in the bedroom that was afraid to move on. It also stated that the spirit was possibly one of a younger female and it was unsure if this spirit had ever lived in that building. Other investigators had the same impression that a small female was present in the apartment.



• Private Residence - Pittsfield, MA: Josh was in the bedroom doing an EVP session. John was also in the room, dowsing. Out of nowhere and for no explanation a strong feeling came over him. He described it as pins and needles going up and down his arms along with the chills. This feeling was described only to John. The other investigators had not arrived at this point.
  Later, Nick, while in the same room and standing in the same spot, also had the same strange feeling come over him. Nick had no prior knowledge of Josh’s personal experience in that room. When Josh showed Nick a map of the apartment showing where his personal experience occurred, Nick stated his experience was in exactly the same spot.
